I'm an intermediate Spanish learner and I need something to keep me motivated. Music does that. I like how Roxxem breaks song lyrics down line by line. Before you know it you are learning a big part of the song... The biggest thing I have noticed is the improvement in my listening ability. It's as if the speakers have slowed down.

This is one of the most useful and fun tools I use in my classroom. I tend to avoid other internet tools that "gamify" learning; but Roxxem "gamifies" music so well. The students hear the words and see the words. And the selection of songs is fantastic!

It's a great way for the students to listen to, and learn from French and Spanish music and it has introduced many of my more reluctant students to foreign language music, when they would otherwise have just said something like "oh, I never understand it so never listen to it." It's been a real eye-opener! Thanks again 😊.

Roxxem is a great tool to familiarise yourself with a new language in a context that differs from in-person lessons or textbooks. You are able to learn how to express yourself in a more poetic or colloquial way that is also current (depending on the song of course) and it helps you to learn to form sentences that are not as rigid as other platforms present you with. The spaced repetition aspect with regular reviews allows the new words and phrases to sink in and the ability to take it a line at the time means you don't feel pressured to learn more than you feel like it.

I can tell you that [my two students A. and E.] have been living and breathing Roxxem since the [Roxxem Locotubre] contest started. They are best friends and they have been playing nonstop and know all of the songs backwards and forwards. There has been so much excitement and competition here at MHS that we've already won ten times over. One of my classes is an asynchronous class online, which is no way to learn Spanish. I've centered my whole first quarter around the Locotubre competition and Day of the Dead. We celebrate the "dead" songs (hahaha) and I've been able to create community with my online class. They stop by at every free moment, they work together on the live competitions and friendships have blossomed. I am so grateful to you for creating this. It has made Locotubre way more fun and engaging... I've paid for my subscription (thanks for the discount!) and I plan on incorporating Roxxem all year and going forward.

Do you remember A. and E.? They won Locotubre. They were very middle of the road students who took AP because it was the only option available. Roxxem lit such a fire for them. A. went down the rabbit hole of Spanish language Tik Tok and she spent a bit too much time glued to her phone. (I found out later that the two of them got very little sleep because they were on Roxxem all night trying to get back to #1.) However, she ended up earning the Seal of Biliteracy with distinction- equivalent to a 5 on the AP. E. also qualified for the Seal of Biliteracy. Listening to them speak Spanish now is such a joy. I know where they started and to see them now is so fulfilling as a teacher! Thank you for being a part of this journey. Especially for making the site compliant with all of the privacy laws. It made everything easy and fun.

What a lovely way to learn! I've wanted to learn Chinese songs for years, but none of my friends would teach me. Such a wonderful way to learn new vocabulary and get ready for Karaoke night. KTV, here I come!

Best way to learn a language! Roxxem makes learning a language so much fun. I love learning through music and this has helped me immensely. Thank you Roxxem! It's also fun to use it as a teacher with my students. They absolutely love it.

My kids loveee competing with other classes. We play Whac-A-Word every day at the beginning of class, when the competition starts until it ends.

I think it's great, and Hugo Xiong the creator is very responsive, he answers emails quickly and considers every question and comment. He is continually trying to improve the playform... I have assigning the "sandbox" option recently and asking that students spend 30 minutes a week... or shoot for 5+ minutes a day working on lyrics to the songs of their choosing. This is a great thing to have always available for fast finishers or if there are a few minutes left in class and you're done wit the lesson.

We are having the best Friday playing Roxxem Live... I can't recommend it enough! They are hearing and seeing the target language while having fun and being competitive. Some of mine are trying to learn other languages using it outside of class.

My students and I love the Song of the Week tournament. Once we used it, the students ask every day to play the "song game." Many students have added the tournament song to their personal play lists. Life long learners of Spanish!

I introduced Roxxem and the kids loved it! They're requesting it. They're having fun with the powers while learning the songs. Super easy to set up, just start with the free teacher account.

I love it! I'm trying to learn Spanish and having a hard time getting consistent with it on other apps. Roxxem is super intuitive and fun to use. I play a few songs every day and am making a huge progress.

We play Roxxem every Friday. We first started using it during Francomanie in the fall. It has made it into regular rotation. We'll play every voting day this year. It's so fun!

My kids adore Roxxem! One of the students with obsessed with *Je suis une pizza*, lol. Worth every penny!

I did my end-of-semester evaluation with my grade 9 F.I. classes today. Many of them told me how much they liked using Roxxem! If you're haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it, either the free version or the premium if your school is willing to pay. Hugo Xiong is very quick to answer questions and add requested songs. Can't wait to use it for Manie 2024!

Why is this app different? There are several of this type of app on the App Store. But this one stands out because of one thing. The owners are dedicated to excellence. Truly personalized treatment of its customers, not just listening to but seeking suggestions and feedback, use of technology that is well documented to help you learn like spaced repetition and did I say, truly personalized attention such as taking song requests. No cutting corners like use of Google Translate. No. These guys have real song editors. Look the app is not perfect. But I have no doubt it will soon be. So you better get in on the ground floor while you can cos it's going places.

A huge shout out to Roxxem... I tried the live games with one of my grade 8 classes today and they loved it!! Literally stayed in during recess to continue playing! They asked when we could play again!! This was a win for me!

I teach grades 7 and * French Immersion and it was an instant HIT!!! A huge bonus is that you can slow down the song speed for the "word-filler" option. It makes it so much more accessible for second language learners.

I love Roxxem. Use it all the time. The website has new and improved features all the time. I assign for homework or play live in class.

Wow. Have you seen the updates... AMAZING! Smart Study is genius, and adding the "estimated time" to complete an assignment is sooooooo helpful.

I used LyricsTraining last year and this year I switched to Roxxem. It's so much better! There are free versions and paid. I opted for a paid version just to check out all the options, and in my opinion it's worht it. I love the ability to play games as a whole class and also make assignments. My son has RSV and I'm out of the classroom for the entire week, but with Roxxem it's been easy for me to make sure they're interacting with the songs before they vote even though I'm not there.

You site is a helpful and fun way for my students to learn vocabulary. Lists and flashcards unwittingly produce a boxy, unrealistic view to language acquisition. This app provides a warm fun competitive way to be exposed to real language.

Such a fun app. Always been a fan of learning languages through music. This one just hits the spot.

First, let me say, this has been the most FUN addition to our classroom this year! THANK YOU for your efforts to create such a great tool! We have gotten started with classroom games this weeks, and next week we will be trialing Sandbox assignments. I love how the songs are rated both for content and student learning levels... I truly appreciate you, and anticipate that I will be an avid Roxxem fan for years to come! We were late to the party this year, but my students are already excited for the next Tournament!

Roxxem makes learning feel like fun. For those who are musically inclined, it's an easy way to learn different languages. It keeps you engaged in language learning because it allows you to repeat words and phrases as many times as you want. It's easier and less stressful to use while learning on your own. I highly recommend the app!

My students have been LOVING Roxxem! We listen through the lyrics to compare them in English and Spanish first, then we do Whac-A-Word after. It has been fun to see them expand their Spanish music knowledge and also improve their listening abilities. I really appreciate the beginner-advanced ratings and also G-R rating-- makes it so I don't have to sift through as much when previewing before sharing with my class. I've also found myself doing it for fun during my prep period! Ha!

Competing against more than 3,200 students globally, this 12th grader showcased his exceptional language skills by listening to songs in German and filling in missing words and putting lyrics in order to earn points. Classes could also compete, and out of over 100 classes, the EPHS German 4 and 5 classes won seventh place! Great job — or should we say gut gemacht — Eagles!

I've been using Roxxem to learn German songs for my German class and I'm enjoying it so far... definitely fun and worth it. It's definitely helping me get better at remembering words quickly, which helps me a lot.

It was really fun for the students to see themselves and their class compared to others around the world. It was easy to click on songs and see the matchups and your high scores. The tournament was very well organized... I think you thought of tons of things I wouldn't have and it was remarkably well done for a first time. We are already excited for next year.

[The Roxxem tournament is] motivating and it gives the students exposure to real-life appropriate entertaintent. It open the door to so many other culturally enriching activities.

I like the Roxxem system a lot, and I appreciated that students could create accounts without providing personal information because our district is very strict about that. The students were very invested in playing!

I always wanted an app to help me understand Spanish pop songs, so I don't need to look up each new word for like ten times and still don't remember them... I really appreciate the content quality: I can tell that they spent some time curating the words, I don't like machine translations that are sometimes inaccurate and frustrating.

Good to practice listening! It's pretty good at forcing you to listen quickly and comprehend when going through the lessons. Glad that there's pinyin in the Chinese section and not just characters so that absolute beginners can jump in and start learning.

I finally got a chance to test Roxxem out with my Grade 7/8s on Friday with the Manie Musicale playlist (this program is perfect for this!). I was amazed at how my loudest, uninterested class was so engaged and absolutely quiet, just listening to the right lyric. I'm really looking forward to the potential of this program.

Hi, I love this new app!

We LOVE it! The paid version means you can play song games live--which is super fun! And you can speed up/slow down songs while playing. There isn't an IT concern because students can log in with just a username and password, no email required... I've assigned songs when I've had subs and we love playing together LIVE. Students love that they can play whenever they want and hear their favorite songs. My favorite thing from Manie this year is Roxxem--they were all singing the songs while we played 🙂

So fun! I love getting songs stuck on my head while learning a new language! This app is so much fun, and super helpful.

I purchased it this year and started using it in my classes. I use weekly songs where the chorus focuses on a verb we are learning. And student interest has gone up more since they started learning on their own through the site versus me teaching the lyrics to the class myself! 😅
